WebFeb 13, 2024 · The motor was a .010" 80", which I debated flushing and trying to start early on. Deciding not to risk damage or waste my time, the motor came apart too. There was some minor scuffing in the cylinders, but the biggest reward for the tear down was finding gauling on the crank pin. WebOct 28, 2015 · 10,287 Posts. #14 · Jan 17, 2015. The complete 103 s&s shovel is light years ahead of anything previously, I would put more trust into the s&s than anything else. with the old factory Harley crsnkcases there was so much grinding in the V coupled with the weak cases and borining the spigots out 1/8" the bottom was weak.

Easy to break in and way less money. Lots of hop up parts all over the place, and the dealers still stock parts, gaskets etc. Can't say the same for a Shovel.
